Tis the season for family gatherings, holiday parties, and lots of selfie opportunities! Dr. Landon Libby and our team at Libby Dental would like to wish you and your families a very special holiday cheer and a happy new year!
Dr. Libby would like to share a few important tips to keep your smile bright for the holidays.
#1: Trade Lemon Water for Cucumber Water
Many individuals have opted out of dark drinks such as (coffee, soda’s, etc) due to staining. Instead they have decided to go with a fresh cup of H2O and slice of lemon. What many are not aware of is that this can be even more harmful due to the acid from the lemon. Lemon water can promote erosion to the enamel, which is the outter shell of the tooth. If you do decide to drink lemon water make sure to rinse with water and to wait for about an hour to brush your teeth.
#2: Minimize Stains by Choosing the Right Coffee Mug
If you are the type to enjoy a nice cup of joe to get your holiday spirit started, but are worried about staining. Look no further! Dr. Libby recommends drinking from a vented lid. He also recommends that one should not indulge all day and to brush your teeth shortly after.
#3: What is Holiday Cheer Without Red Wine?
We know that a great wine goes well with holiday roasts and desserts. There are some stores that sell wipes to help prevent staining. Dr. Libby recommends drinking wine through a straw or simply rinsing your mouth out with a glass of water.
We hope that these tips help you enjoy your beautiful smile all while indulging in the treats and drinks during this holiday season. Happy Holidays from Libby Dental!
